All our training programs have a set of core objectives:

  • Adopt an innovative model for GIS and technology capacity building that serves the needs of end users and sponsoring organizations.
  • Provide competency-based training that balances technology and data issues on the one hand and theories and concepts from the sciences underlying the technology on the other hand.
  • Develop the necessary resources and infrastructure required for effective delivery of training (i.e. training packages, assessment resources, qualified instructors, lab facilities, etc .).
  • Adopt mechanisms for ongoing enhancement and regular updates of offered courses, training materials, and instruction methods.
  • Create a framework/methodology for ongoing enhancement of geospatial training and education as technologies evolve.

1. Quality Assurance & Quality Control for GIS Data

Description

This course specializes in quality control and its importance in terms of geographic data, and describes the tools and methods that help to verify the accuracy and validity of the data in various forms and types, and also clarify the role of quality in every phase of the input, processing and output of geographic data

2. Data Integration and Consistency

Description

Conversion from different databases to geographic databases, linking different databases, connectivity between different geographical spatial data, linking paper charts and photographs with geographic data, converting engineering plans in all its forms to the geographic layers

3. Managing Geospatial Projects

Description

This course will illustrate best practices for geographic information systems and services, and how to build the founders of geographical information system, as well as access to the successful experiences in this area.

4. Building Business Case for your GIS Projects

Description

  • Techniques for the evaluation of practical benefits and for the measuring of intangible benefits
  • Development of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models
  • Presenting the Business case to Senior Executives
  • The concepts and language of business case development
  • How to match spatial applications with your organisation’s key business drivers
  • Modelling techniques to identify the business process changes which improve efficiency
  • Cost and benefit assessment, including measurement principles for “intangible” factors
  • Where to find case studies that provide Return on Investment evidence for comparable projects
  • Prioritising and evaluating of alternative options
  • Crafting the executive presentation

Payment Information
To ensure your registration for the course, payment of the course should be made 4 weeks before the first day of the class. A wire transfer should be made payable to “Geolinks Geospatial Consultancy and Services” and a copy of the receipt of the payment should be send to GeoLinks on this email: Courses@geo-links.com The receipt must show the participant’s name, name of course, and date(s) of class, and the organization name If your procurement department at your organization is responsible for the payment please send the details of the contact person to: courses@geo-links.com
Terms & Conditions
  • All training fees must be paid in full prior to registration deadline shown in the website.
  • A confirmation of enrolment notice will be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed once the participant has been registered.
  • In the event of a need of cancelation, you should inform GeoLinks of your request of cancelation of classes at least 3 WEEKS prior to commencement, otherwise full course fee is due and payable and you will be re-scheduled for the next available class of your choice.
  • Courses may be cancelled/re-scheduled by GeoLinks due to insufficient enrollments or other unforeseen circumstances. GeoLinks will not accept responsibility for any expenses (Travel, accommodations, etc...) that may have been incurred.
  • If you are a registered participant, all efforts will be made to inform you of any change within reasonable period.
  • The cost of the training at all Training is inclusive of the following:
